What is a personal chef?

A personal chef is someone who is hired to prepare meals out of a client’s home for an agreed upon price.

Chef Ryan believes in building relationships and it is a very valuable part of his business.  He understands being invited into a client’s home and personal space is built on trust.

What commitment do you require?

There is no long-term commitment to hiring Chef Ryan.  He understands people’s lives and schedules are always changing so because of that there is no commitment.  If you are interested in securing a reoccurring date, just let Chef Ryan know.

Do you cook out of the client’s kitchen or somewhere else?

All the meal preparation is done out the client’s kitchen. 

What quality of ingredients do you use?

This is a conversation Ryan has early on with the client to best understand the client’s desires.  High quality ingredients are reflected in Ryan’s pricing.  This includes organic, grass-fed, free-range, non-gmo items.  If a client doesn’t have a preference of food quality that can be part of the conversation.

Where do you shop for groceries?

Depending on the location of client’s home, grocery shopping is done on way to client’s home.  Ryan prefers shopping at Whole Foods and local Co-ops and will find a location along his morning route. 

What inspired Ryan to become a personal chef?

Ryan’s path to become a personal chef started with his launch of his baby food business, Tickled Green Organics.  His passion for cooking healthy for others started with his own children.   Seeing the joy it brought his family, and noticing the demand from busy professionals, he launched his brand in 2014.

Do I need a personal chef?

Hiring a personal chef is a lifestyle choice and unfortunately for a lot of people, food becomes a stressor in their life.  Ryan recommends giving a personal chef a try for a short period of time to see if it helps free up some time and create a more enjoyable meal time experience.

How much does a personal chef cost?

Prices vary based on every client’s needs.  Contact Ryan to find the plan that works best for your lifestyle.

I have food allergies and/or sensitivities.  Can you accommodate?

Absolutely!  In fact, most of the client’s Ryan cooks for have restrictions which allows Ryan to create customized menu’s based on their needs. 

How far will you travel?

Ryan is located in St. Paul, MN and will travel within a 15-20 mile radius.

Do you bring your own pots/pans/cutlery?

Ryan does bring his own cutlery, but will use the client’s appliances, as well as cookware.  It is also recommended that clients have a good amount of storage containers for prepared food.

How long does an in-home cooking session last?

A typical day in a client’s kitchen will take approx. 3-4 hours.  Ryan usually arrives mid-morning and will be gone by 1:00 or 2:00 in the afternoon.
